Valentine's Day | 2015

Not gonna lie guys, this Valentine's Day was hard. I guess because it was on a weekend & all I had to do was sit around & whine about being away from Jeremiah- it made for a really long day. But I was really happy with what Jeremiah got me, so I thought I'd share.

Technically, I got my gifts on Thursday (February 12th) & opened them then- but they were still for Valentine's Day. My mom had already opened one of them because she thought it was something else I was expecting & had asked her to open it. So when I got home, one was on the counter & I opened it first. Inside were these really cool Jelly Beans. I mean really, really cool. They're called Bean Boozled & they're so fun, & so good & so gross, all at the same time! Jeremiah bought two boxes & had them both shipped to me, but I sent him one box back so he could play, too!

The game is, you spin the little wheel & it tells you which bean to eat- the catch is the gross ones & the yummy ones look the same! So you don't know if you'll be getting Licorice or Skunk Spray! Talk about nerve racking! There are a ton of different flavors, which makes it fun, too! My whole family & I have been playing this & it's hilarious!

Then, my sister said, "I took your poop emoji out of the bag! It's cute!". I responded with, "Thanks, that was my Valentine's Day gift & I didn't know what it was." She was like, "Oops". Oh well, so I went upstairs to check out my emoji. Jeremiah knows me all too well- this thing was super cute! And way softer than I expected! I seriously love this little poop emoji!

Like I said, this year was hard- but I made it through. I loved my gifts from Jeremiah & thought they were really creative & super sweet. I'm counting down the days until Jeremiah is home (74 days)! I hope you all had a loving Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day Care Package

I finally got around to making Jeremiah's Valentine's Day Care Package! I've been collecting things for it for a few weeks & now it's all come together!

First, I'd like to recommend USPS Flat Rate Shipping Boxes- I got a medium sized box & was guaranteed it would cost $12.65 to ship. Which is a really, really good deal. Just make sure you double-check with your post office on the weight restrictions- that will cost you more if you exceed the amount. The medium box was plenty big enough for me & I plan on using flat rate boxes the next time I ship. It really beats paying by weight! Plus, if you get the priority boxes (which most of them are), they're delivered within 3 days!!

The first thing I found for Jeremiah's box was a stuffed animal- we really love crocodiles (& always have), so when I found this at Wal-Mart I knew it was perfect. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take a picture of the crocodile by itself- but I have it in the photos with the other gifts.
Price: $2.99

Next thing I picked up were Peeps Strawberry Creme Marshmallow Hearts. Peeps are the only real candy-type food Jeremiah likes; so I always try to pick up some festive ones whenever I can find them.
Price: $1.50

I couldn't decide what I wanted the "big gift" to be, until I found Cards Against Humanity. I know, this is a really immature game- but he is a young guy that lives with five other guys! I knew he would really like this game & I'm super excited to see his reaction to it!
Price: $25.00

I hit up Target yesterday & found the cutest Valentine's Day stuff! Their selection is definitely better than Wal-Mart's. Seriously, some of the stuff was just awesome! Jeremiah loves PlayStation & his PS4, so a gummy controller was perfect!
Price: $8.00

At Target I also got Jeremiah some "footies". I know that's weird but he put some on the other day & made a joke about how he needed some- so I threw some in for good measure.
Price: $4.00

I also got some last minute things from Wal-Mart , beef jerky (he loves that), pistachios (his favorite) & Neutrogena Make-Up Removing Wipes. Jeremiah is a theater major, which means he has to learn all the tricks to stage make-up. He's not much on having to wash his face after class everyday, so I grabbed some of these for his gift, too.
Price: $4.98, $2.00, $4.97
I know a lot of this seems like food, but what else can I get him!? You can never have too many snacks! In total, I spent $66.09 (including shipping the package). Honestly, the price for all that isn't bad! I know he's going to love this & the decorated box!

I had originally intended for it to say "Valentine's Day"- but I couldn't make it work & decided that he'd know what holiday it was for- & shortened it to "V-Day". All I did to make the letters was type them on Pages, print them out & individually cut them. I added a little shredded paper ($2.00) from the Dollar Tree, for a little more festivity & called it done!

Finished product!

I really enjoy making these boxes for Jeremiah & although I don't have as much time as I used to I still try to make them happen every once in a while. I mailed his box out around 11am today & they said he'd get it by Monday (I might have to make him promise not to peek before next Saturday)!

I hope this gave you some good ideas for that Long-Distance Relationship on Valentine's Day!
