I'm Back… not really

This post is gonna be short, sweet & to the point.
Dental hygiene is not joke- it's a hard program & it requires a lot of studying & effort.
So for as long as I can think, I'm going to be absent. I might post closer to the end of the week or on the weekend but I'm really trying to buckle down & get my school work done.

As for my Lasik eye surgery, it went great. I can see just like with glasses- but the best part is they aren't there anymore! Yay! I love it. It was a really easy procedure & I highly recommend it. Maybe this weekend I can do a recap on it.

For now, I'm gonna be on break- or until I finish dental hygiene :p
My posts, are going to be few & far between probably.

Have a great week- oh & Jeremiah is loving school. I miss him a lot, but time is flying by!

Encouragement

Just thought I'd post a little quote of encouragement! I'm missing Jeremiah & I know so many others are missing their loved ones.
My eye surgery went well, but I'm still recovering.
Have a fur-filled weekend!

Out for a few

So I've been putting off blogging about this for a while, because I don't really like to talk about it. But tomorrow I'm having Lasik Eye Surgery (I've been a glasses wearer for almost ten years, now). I won't be able to blog for a few days because of the need to rest my eyes. So I figured I'd recap today (Jeremiah left) & then sign-off until Monday, more than likely. I've heard it's a really easy procedure but I don't want to over do it, staring at a computer all day & strain my eyes.

Here's how today went:
I got up at 7:35am to get ready to meet Jeremiah at his dad's office, to say good-bye before his flight. I left my house around 8:15am & got there at 8:25am. Jeremiah was already there & inside about to eat his Taco Bell breakfast. I headed in & we made casual conversation while he finished eating. I asked where his dad's car was (his ride to the airport) & it was a the body-shop next door get it's tire fixed. Somehow a screw got into his tire & they noticed this morning- thank goodness! The drive to the airport is about four hours long, & it would be horrible to get a flat on their way there! After that was fixed up, we ran some errands.

I accidentally forgot to grab Jeremiah's school hoodie when I left my house this morning- so the first thing we did was run to my house & grab that. Last night, Jeremiah decided to mail somethings to school, in order to reduce the amount of weight in his suitcase- if you've ever had to pay extra for your luggage weighing over fifty pounds, then you'll understand this. It costs a fortune. So we headed to the post office- mailed his package & check my families' P.O. box then went to the DMV. Jeremiah will be getting a car this year & they are purchasing at a place near his school. So, we had to get everything lined out at the DMV so he can get tags from our current state (his dad's insurance won't cover a car out there so it has to have tags & be registered here). That was a hot mess. They could only give him tags for three days & until then he has to suck it up & ride the school trolly (or walk), until his dad can mail him the tags.
And before you ask, he won't be getting 30-day tags because he's buying his car from an independent person, not affiliated with a car dealership in any way- so that's not even an option.
We were supposed to stop at our local grocery store & get a prescription for Jeremiah's mom & some allergy medicine for him- but we were cutting it close on time & didn't want to risk it. So, after all that was straightened out we went back to his dad's office & hung out with his mom & just wasted some time. Then it was time for the dreaded good-byes.

Of course, tears were shed- even though I tried hard not to. And we went our separate ways. Except when I saw Jeremiah & his dad pull over at the gas station near my house, then I pulled over to & gave him an extra hug. I cannot express how much I'm going to miss this boy, he is my everything & him leaving is the hardest thing I've ever been through. But like Jeremiah said, it should be so much easier this time around- I'm hoping he's right.

I'll be back & blogging within a few days- once I feel my eyes are ready! Until then, best of luck!

Paula's Choice: Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Review

In April, I received a sample of Paula's Choice: Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid in my Birch Box, & I fell in love. First off, the sample that I got in my box is still going! It is a really good sized sample! I like that, it allows me to use the product for a longer amount of time, & I can decide if it really works for me. I was a little skeptical about trying this product at first, but the majority of the Birch Box reviews were super positive, so I gave it a shot.
I am so, so glad I gave this product a chance. I love it. I'm very picky about the things I put on my face & I wouldn't use it if I didn't think it really worked. I can definitely tell a difference in my skin since I've started using this. My breakouts have been few and far between & my skin-tone looks more even & brighter!

I've heard a lot of good things about the Paula's Choice brand & this product is not different. It is fabulous. I was a little confused about how to use it the first time I applied it on my face- I wasn't sure if you washed it off or left it on (you leave it on). I will warn you, it does have a sticky feeling when you first apply it, but as it starts to dry that goes away. If you can get past the sticky feeling, you'll fall in love with this stuff, just like I did.

Now let me give you a little background on this product. First things first, it's a leave-on exfoliant, kind of like a leave-in conditioner you use in your hair. The Salicylic Acid (I know, the word acid is scary) works on calming redness & rosacea, while still dislodging stubborn blackheads & degreasing pores (even down to their oiliest depths, according to Birch Box). Meanwhile, the BHA Liquid works wonders on the antibacterial front, preventing future breakouts. And, let's not forget the green tea extract helps soothe the skin with it's repairing antioxidants. It also creates a more radiant, even-toned skin & works on building up your collagen production.
Perks: It's clinically proven to be non-irritating, 100% fragrance free, contains no added dyes & it's never tested on animals.

Currently, my sample size is still going. I use it nightly & occasionally on some mornings- I'll add again, I've been using this sample since April. That's a pretty good amount of time for just a sample! I recently, took my Birch Box points I had saved up & bought the full-size version of this product. It's $23 & if you hurry, free shipping right now!

I'll link Birch Box up here & attach the link for the Paula's Choice: Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid here. Seriously ladies, I wouldn't be recommending this product if I didn't think highly of it! It's an amazing product, at a pretty good price (you get a ton of product- I'm sure the full-size will last me at least eight or nine months; since the sample has been going strong for four months & I am just now below half full).

I hope my review has given you a little insight on a great product. Give it a chance & you won't regret it! Have a great Wednesday!

DIY Surprise Gift

First I want to recap Thursday, I know it's a little late but I had originally had this post planned for a few days ago & forgot to get it up, oops! Anyways, here goes Thursday (August 14th, 2014) it was spent doing nothing but running lines with Jeremiah. He has to have his part for the fall play memorized by the time he returns to school & it's approaching quickly! We ran lines, took a break to get Jeremiah's hair cut then went to his favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch. We came back to my house, ran more lines then Jeremiah headed home for a dinner his dad was having for his church.

As for today I got my TB test read (I had to get one for my Dental Hygiene program), got some groceries at Wal-Mart & then headed to Jeremiah's. Also, before I went to Wal-Mart I went to our local animal shelter to see if anyone had brought in my sweet little Raisin but had no luck, I'm still praying she's well taken care of & in good hands. Jeremiah got a new fridge & it had to be cleaned out before any food was put in it so, we did that then went back to Wal-Mart to buy Jeremiah's Roku, I'll link them up here. These things are seriously awesome- take a minute to check them out!
We came back to my house for a few then headed to pick up a cake for a lady who works for his dad (it was her birthday today). We had cake with them then hung out there before we came back here to kill time before we had dinner with Jeremiah's mom & sister. We ate some yummy mexican food & now I'm back here!

Now let's get into this DIY!

Jeremiah leaves this Wednesday & I'm not happy about it.
I knew I wanted to make him a little something before he left & this is what I came up with!
Jeremiah opened his blender & left it at my house (still in the box) so I took the cup out of the box & thought of some stuffers for it. I wanted it to be things that reminded him of us & home.
I started off with a bouncy ball, Jeremiah & I get one at almost every store we go in (from the little machines beside the doors). Then I added a strip of pictures from the photo booth at the mall, took a few pictures of myself, Daisy & Marly with the Polaroid camera I gave Jeremiah for Easter & added a sweet note explaining why all this stuff was inside his cup!
I picked up some Cherry flavored ChapStick (Jeremiah & I always use that kind) & a pack of gum. I'm sure I'll find a few other things I'll want to add, but for now that's it.
I also wrote on the bottom of each of the Polaroids. Jusf a few cute notes to remind him I love him & I'll see him in December!

This summer has gone by so quickly, I can't believe it's already ending. My heart aches knowing Jeremiah will be leaving again, but I know it's something he has to do. I'll cry a lot for a few days & then fall back into my routine as I did when he left last fall. He'll constantly be on my mind & heart, but time will go by quickly & before I know it he'll be back home for Christmas. I'm in high hopes that this year will be a lot easier emotionally, since I know what to expect. Maybe time will go by even faster!

I hope this post gave you a cute idea to show you're going to miss that special person. Maybe instead of a blender bottle you could get a nice water bottle & fill it with stuff, or even just a little box!
Best of luck to all those ladies who's men are heading back to college soon!

Missing Kitten

As you may have read in a past post we had two kittens my sister had found. Unfortunately, yesterday at 7am was the last time we saw our black & white one, Raisin. The kittens had recently started spending the night outside & being out all day- they were loving it! For some reason though, Raisin just disappeared yesterday morning! Boris, her brother, normally sticks with her all the time so we cannot figure out why this time would be any different- but he's here & she isn't! They're only about four or five months old- I'm not sure if that's old enough for her to go into heat or not- if she was I suppose that's a possibility of why she ran away.
Thoughts & prayers are much appreciated- as is any adivce. Boris is missing her very much, he is constantly wandering around meowing for her. It's pitiful.
Pictured: Raisin, she was bigger than this now. But it's the most recent photo we have of her :(

Anniversary Recap

As I stated in my last post, today (or should I say yesterday?) was mine & Jeremiah's six year anniversary. I decided to do a little recap, mostly for my own sake & good. I love that I can look back on my posts & it brings back memories of that day!
We started off our day pretty late, honestly. There was no plan or rush- we both slept in! I woke up around 10:30 & waited to hear from Jeremiah. Sometimes his wifi goes in & out so when it was 12:00 & I still hadn't heard from him, I thought it was just out & it wasn't a big deal. I got some stuff done around the house & just hung out for a while. Then out of nowhere, Jeremiah shows up at my house- frantic to use my desktop for a Skype audition/call back he had scheduled (which he couldn't do at his house because the internet was out).
He got everything ready, did that & then we headed to my grandparent's house for a few minutes. My grandpa was trying to install an antivirus system on his computer but couldn't figure it out. So we fixed that, then ate a little chinese food (from Jeremiah's favorite place).
Afterwards we went to Jeremiah's house to clean it up a little (his dad is having a church meeting there on Thursday & needed it to be spiffied up a bit before). We also went through Jeremiah's closet to decide what clothes he was giving to the Good Will & what clothes he was going to take to the consignment shop to sell. It took a pretty long time to do all that, so by the time we left his house it was almost 5. He also gave me another one of my presents while we were there. I had asked about it earlier (because I knew what it was & couldn't figure out why it hadn't came in yet)- so he casually just put it on my phone & laid it back on the table for me to find. It turned out really cute! He made a phone case with our picture on it & on the bottom of the case it says "Together since 08/12/2008". So adorable & sweet, I absolutely love it!
Then we came back to my house to wait to get hungry again for our anniversary dinner. I did a few BirchBox reviews while Jeremiah worked on getting my families' computer set up. We hung out outside with my mom & played with my two kittens my sister found, before we played Cuponk. Which is basically a cup & ping pong ball- that you try to do tricks with. We finally were getting hungry & decided we had better eat since it was almost 8.
We ate at our local steakhouse, I had a salad & a baked potato- while Jeremiah had steak stir fry on rice. We both really like this restaurant, & they definitely didn't disappoint us tonight- the rolls were spot on!
Jeremiah said he needed to run in Wal-Mart, so I sat in the car while he went in there for a few minutes. He came back with roses for me, chocolate chip cookies (I had just said I really wanted some cookies), a car holder/hanger for my cell phone (which I use as a GPS when I drive), & a few other things I didn't see until we got back to my house. I'll link the cell phone holder here, it's call the Bondi & I am obsessed with it, it's everything I need!
When we got there I put my flowers in a vase & then followed Jeremiah upstairs. He had also bought the movie Flubber at Wal-Mart, we both loved this movie as kids- so it was exciting to watch it together! Plus, it was like a little dedication to Robin Williams. We watched the movie, ate our chocolate chip cookies & some baked barbecue chips!
After our movie went off Jeremiah decided to head home, since it was getting late. I had such a good time with him today. We flew by the seat of our pants & just enjoyed being together. Now, we're on our way to seven years & I know this year will be just as great as the last six. He's an amazing person, whom I love with all my heart. I wouldn't wish for our relationship to be any other way, well maybe just a little closer in distance (hehe).
I love you so, so much Jeremiah & cannot wait to see what the next year brings for us!

August BirchBox

This month's box really out did itself. I love every single product inside.
Here goes!

One

amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo
First things first- the bottle is so adorable! I love it! This dry shampoo, is just like any other- it works that way, too. It smells super good & like it said, it's cute! The only sad part is its $21 for a full-size bottle, & I'm so not going to pay that for dry shampoo :(
Full-size: $21

Two
Model Co. Bronzer
I was really excited to get this bronzer- it was my exclusive for the month & it is amaaaazing. It's a great shade & a decent size. Perk: the full-size is a pretty good price, I may be purchasing this one!
Full-size: $22

Three
Dr. Jart+ Dis-A-Pore Beauty Balm
This stuff is like a little beauty miracle in a bottle. I can definitely tell it has controlled my oils & hid pores, for the majority of the day. I really, really liked this sample- although, it was on the smaller side.
Full-size: $36

Four
nugg Beauty Soothing Face Mask
Lately, I've been wanting to try a face mask- so when I go this one in my BirchBox, I was really excited to try it out. It does exactly as it describes to & I'm super pleased with it. I wish the individual packs were a little bigger, but they'll do.
Full-size: $14.99

Five
Supergoop! Forever Young Hand Cream
This is a really nice hand cream- but such a small sample! I joked with Jeremiah, the package says "hand cream" because you only get enough to use on one hand! The good thing about this product is that it has broad spectrum SPF 40 in it- which is great for fair skin in the summer! However, the smell is not very attractive. If you've ever used spray hair glitter (from Wal-Mart) then you'll definitely recognize this scent- it smells exactly like it- not the best.
Full-size: $11

I really like this month's box- I was not disappointed. Boxes like this month's make me want to keep my BirchBox subscription forever! I'll link them up here, so you can check them out for yourself.
Also, they have a guys box- maybe an idea for a gift? I think so!
Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Recap

This weekend literally flew by, before I knew it Monday was here again!
Saturday Jeremiah was supposed to play in a golf tournament but it ended up getting cancelled & so we headed over to his grandma's for one last visit before he heads back to school. We ate lunch at the italian restaurant in our area & then he recorded an audition, that he soon had to send in. Afterwards, we finally headed to his grandma's for dinner & some family time. Unfortunately, the power was out & Jeremiah couldn't edit his video he recorded as much as he had planned to- but he did the best with what he had to work with. Thankfully, his grandpa has a generator & was able to run it for just long enough for his grandma to heat the food up. We ate dinner & just hung out outside (since it was cooler out there than it was in the house). When it started to get dark we built a little fire & roasted marshmallows & hot dog weenies. I don't normally eat but maybe two roasted marshmallows but for some reason these turned out so, so good! I unfortunately, ate about five :/ Seriously, they were so good, though!
After the marshmallows were all gone Jeremiah, his sister & I decided to head back. I didn't have my car Saturday so Jeremiah's little sister offered to take me home (& Jeremiah tagged along for the ride). We stopped at Taco Bell for some late night quesaritos (warning: if you have not tried these yet, immediately visit your Taco Bell & purchase one- you will be forever hooked). We brought them back to my house, ate & then Jeremiah & his sister left.
Sunday afternoon was Jeremiah's cousins' second birthday (they're twins). So we headed to his other grandma's for that party. The boys are so, so cute at this age- they're talking really well & love interacting with people. I could sit & watch them all the time! We ate pizza, enjoyed some yummy Bubble Guppies birthday cake & watched them open all their gifts. Afterwards we headed across the street to his grandma's house & visited with her, while watching the PGA Golf Tournament. We stayed there for a few hours & then went back to Jeremiah's to finish watching the tournament. (I would like to add I picked Rory McIlroy from the beginning). I went home after the tournament went off & that basically wraps up our weekend.

Oh, & guess what!? Today is mine & Jeremiah's six year anniversary. We really don't have anything planned yet. Right now, he's taking a call back via Skype & then we are going to lunch. I cannot believe it's been six years already- time flies by so quickly. I am so looking forward to the years coming!
I hope you're all having a great Tuesday!

Five on Friday

It's been a while since I've done a Five on Friday post, so I thought today would be a great day to bring them back! Here goes!

One
I recently saw the previews for the upcoming movie, If I  Stay & I am dying to read the book! I love reading the books before I watch the corresponding movie! I'll probably be downloading it onto my Kindle before the weekend is up. I'll link the IMDB trailer here
Be sure to have your tissues ready for this one, even the trailer is a tear jerker.
Two
I'm adoring my new MacBook Air Jeremiah got me for our anniversary. It seriously runs so great, I'm so excited to start using it for school!

Three
I've spent the last two days editing mine & Jeremiah's summer vlogs. There are so many, I feel like I'll never get them all put together!

Four
American Eagle is having a sale on their jeans (they're all under thirty dollars!) and, you can get double Aerewards points through August 31st. I think I'm gonna have to do a little online shopping! I need back to school clothes, right? Yes, that justifies it.

Five
Sunday marks the beginning of my favorite week on television.. SHARK WEEK. Oh yes, I am one of those fans. I adore marine animals & I'm so excited for shark week this year! It looks like it's going to be amazing.

I hope your weekend is warm & sunny- it's so sad that summer is already coming to a close!
I am definitely not looking forward to Jeremiah leaving, but I am excited for the upcoming school year. I still can't believe I will be doing dental hygiene. I am thrilled for the opportunity!

Anniversary Gifts

So although mine & Jeremiah's anniversary isn't until Tuesday- all our gifts for each other had came in & we decided to go ahead & exchange them!
We both have a problem with waiting to give each other our gifts.
So, we figured this was close enough!

First, Jeremiah opened his.
The post I did on his gifts will be linked here.
Be sure to check it out to see what Jeremiah received!
Then, I opened my gift.
The past few months I've been thinking Jeremiah was getting me a new promise ring, I already have one- but I was just getting a vibe from him that that's what it was going to be.
So he handed me a tiny, red heart-shaped box! I opened it & inside was a little piece of paper that said J.K. (just kidding)! I was like what? lol.
I turned the paper over & saw that it told me the real location of my present (in the closet where we keep the vacuum). So off I went to find it.
I found it on top of the clothes rack in the closet, wrapped in awesome Duck Dynasty paper (Jeremiah knows I love Duck Dynasty & everything they stand for).
So I brought the gift back in my room & proceeded to open it.
It was really heavy. I had no idea what it could be!
Then I opened the back of it then I saw it said something about a "notebook" & I was like hmm.
So I flipped it over & saw the front! Which had a picture of a pretty laptop & the side read, "MacBook Air". Can you say pumped? I was!
I've been wanting a laptop for so long- the one I currently have, Jeremiah gave to me to use for school. So to have a brand new one, just made my day (& my school year)! I am so excited to use it!

I hope you all have a great Friday!
Looking forward to this weekend :)

A Change of Plans

From my senior year, Plan A was to attend a community college nearby that offered a Dental Hygiene program.
I spent my first year after graduation at my local community college taking my general education classes & pre-requisites for the Dental Hygiene program. In February of this year I applied. In April I recieved my letter stating I had not been selected to start the program in the upcoming fall semester.
I was pretty upset, but had my Plan B, and put it into full-swing. I changed my major & decided to attend a nearby university to study psychology. I was excited, yet still disappointed my original plan had not gone through. Yet, I didn't make a big deal about it- or whine & cry.
I told Jeremiah if I didn't get into the program I would take that as my sign. God was closing that door & was leading me in a new direction. I was fine with whatever path He chose for me.

Then yesterday evening I was standing in my kitchen when the phone rang. I answered it & the lady on the other line told me they had had someone drop out of the dental hygiene program & I was the next person on the list! She offered me the last spot available! I was ecstatic. But wait- I had already committed to this other school- my parents had already paid a lot of money for the upcoming semester. Now what!?
I immediately called Jeremiah (interrupting his golf- but he said it was worth it) & told him the news. He was so excited for me.
I wasn't sure what decision to make. Do I go with my original plan & go Plan A or choose Plan B?
I thought on it for quite a while then remembered what I had originally thought- God had closed that door for me- but now He's opening it back up for me. In that moment, I knew what the decision was. God knew this was what I wanted, that this is my life plan. I trust Him. I trust the decisions He makes for me & the doors He continues to open for me.
I am overjoyed with the thought of starting this program. It is what I wanted from the start & I know it's what I am called to do.

"The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord."
-Lamentations 3:25-26

Friday Recap (August 1st, 2014)

So in case you haven't already noticed, I've been using my blog more for recaps. I've realized I'm not going to remember every day I spend with Jeremiah or remember what we do- so I've decided to write them down. And this is the perfect way. So here goes Friday:

I hung out at home for a while then Jeremiah came up & ate some chicken. Then he realized he had to pay his entry fee for a golf tournament he's playing in today. So we headed to our local golf course to pay his fees & play nine holes. Of course, I sucked it up. I'm still not very good- but it takes practice. Then we came back to my house to eat dinner with my parents. My mom mad homemade fried chicken, corn on the cob, peas, mashed potatoes & brown gravy & Texas toast! It was delicious! After that we watched tv & I helped Jeremiah practice his lines for his upcoming school play.
He went home & I prepped for today.

I hope your Saturday is warm & sunny!
