DIY Make-Up Brush Holder

Whoop, it's Friday!
And as promised, here are those DIY Make-Up Brush Holders!

One, get yourself some mason jars.
I had two hanging around my house- so I decided to use them.
I know you can buy them at Wal-Mart though, if you don't have any on hand.

Next, I bought some "Glass Gems"- they're almost like stones you would put in a fish tank.
Super easy to find, too. I bought two bags & paid $1 for each.

Fill your mason jars with the amount of rocks you feel is appropriate.
I decided to take off the rings around mine, just because they didn't match very well (one was silver & one was gold). My smaller jar looks like it's a weird shade here- but it's clear just like the larger jar.
This literally cost me $2, since I already had the mason jars at home.
I love having a way to store my brushes, it keeps my bristles from getting messed up- like when I store them in a pouch or drawer.

We're skipping Five on Friday today, so I could get this post up-
have a great weekend!

Behind the Scenes (Our Story)

So I've realized you don't know much about Jeremiah & I. Today I've decided to give you a little behind-the-scenes look into our relationship. How we met, what we're majoring in, all that jazz.
So let's get going.
First, Jeremiah & I met way back when we were just kids in middle school. Of course, back then it was just an innocent crush- little did either of us know we'd find our soul mates.
Since then, we've both gone through changes but yet those changes have never separated us. I knew, from the moment I met him that there was something special, something I'd never find in anyone else.
So here we are- almost six years later, still going strong. Our love for each other grows everyday, even when distance separates us.
We dated all through high school & have both just finished our freshmen year of college.
Well, technically.. Jeremiah finished his sophomore year- he had a ton of credits going into his freshman year & will be a junior this fall.
I really hate college, it's the whole reason Jeremiah & I have this long distance relationship (it's no walk in the park). We both knew once we graduated from high school we had to further our educations. I just didn't think we'd further them so far apart. I didn't really have expectations of us attending the same school- as our majors differ greatly- but I at least thought we'd be in the same state.
Negative.

Jeremiah has always loved to act & when he knew that it was what he wanted to do- he knew he couldn't do it anywhere near home. Can you say devastated? I was.
But I told Jeremiah I would always support him, no matter which path he chose.
So there he went- off to a major Christian university on the opposite coast.
Like I said, this fall he will begin his junior year, working towards his major in Theatre Arts.
And can I just say- the kid can act. For reals.
I'm so proud of him. Packing up & moving 2,000 miles away to a state where he knows no one, has no friends or family there & has still managed to be on the Dean's list & keep straight A's the entire time.

This year I spent the year taking classes at my local community college & lived at home.
I'll be attending a Christian college nearby this fall & will be working towards my Bachelors of Science in Psychology. I'll be a sophomore- a year behind Jeremiah. Which kinda sucks- yet may end up being a good thing.
Although Jeremiah has been living on campus he hasn't really gotten to know the areas around him, which is where he wants to live later on. So me graduating a year behind him will give him a year to find us a place & a good neighborhood- while getting to know his way around.

In August we will celebrate our six year anniversary. I cannot believe how quickly the time goes by. It seems like just yesterday we were freshmen in high school going to movies on Friday nights- with our parents.  We've literally traveled all across the country together.

From Washington, D.C.

To the Magic Kingdom

To the big city of L.A.

and the gorgeous California coast

We've been through so much & seen so much together. I cannot imagine my life without him & I am excited to finish up this part of our relationship. Although the distance isn't fun & it's quite upsetting at times- I know it's all worth it. Because in the end, we'll spend every single day together!

Happy Wednesday

Summer Make-Up Faves

So lately, I've been expanding my make-up horizon.
I'm really into trying new things & getting up-to-date on the best make-up products.
My summer routine is slightly different from any other time of year because it's much more laid back & beachy! So I thought I'd share some of my favorite summer make-up products!

First, I like to start out with the Victoria's Secret Make It Last Prime & Set Make-Up Spray.
This product honestly does what it says! I spray a little on before I start my make-up routine & it gives my make-up a long-lasting,  fresh look all day.

Next, I apply a daily sunscreen. I have very, very fair skin- that burns super easily. So a good sunscreen is a necessity in my routine. My preference is the Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF 50 Natural Sunscreen. It protects from UVA/UVB rays, is synthetic fragrance free, & non-greasy (also important). It only takes a small amount to cover my entire face & I can feel it on my face all day.

Unfortunately, I tend to get dark circles under my eyes- even on the nights that I get the best sleep. Recently, I tried the e.l.f. studio Eye Refresh (clear). Can I just say wow? The product has so many natural ingredients, & is the perfect product for those dark under-eye circles.

For foundation, I love the mark. Got The Goods Multi-benefit Foundation Lotion. This foundation is thin, yet still provides good coverage. I don't like to look "cakey" so a thin foundation is a must-have. It also contains SPF 15, which is another plus. I usually apply this on my face with a small e.l.f. Stipple Brush. It blends well & gives me that air-brush finish.

Occasionally, before I apply my foundation (if I've skipped on my Hang Ten Sunscreen), I'll apply some Coola Mineral Sunscreen Natural BB Cream. It's so great because it's SPF 30, matte tint & unscented!

For a setting powder I like the Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation. The jar you get is literally huge (I think) & I can use this stuff for four months before I even start to run out! I love that the lid inside twists shut so you don't dump it all out while traveling. Beware though, a little goes a long way- too much & you're gonna be way too dark!

Bronzing in the summer is literally a necessity. I love the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. Although it's costly- it's truly worth your money. I love how smooth it goes on & the great color.

Blush can give you that cute little color that your cheeks need- which is why I love it so much! I don't like a bright red or hot pink- I prefer a soft, natural glow. The Avon Smooth Mineral Blush is something I've used for years & still adore it. Radiance is my color preference.

Occasionally, I like to do some highlighting- when I do I love the It Hello Light Anti-Aging Radiance Creme Illuminator. It doesn't take much to brighten up your face with this little number!

I love, love, love NYX & almost all of their products! For priming my eyelids before a little color I love to use their Jumbo Eye Pencil in the color Milk. I also like to use this on my lower lash line to open & brighten my eyes up.

My two favorite eye shadows for the summer is either the e.l.f. Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick in the color Little Miss Thing or the Pacifica Natural Beauty Eyeshadow Duo 1. Both of these products are great, depending upon my mood is how I choose my eyeshadow. If I want something effortless, I go to e.l.f.  when I feel like putting a little more effort into it I'll choose Pacifica.

When I feel like doing a wing eyeliner look, I like to use the Avon Extra Lasting Eye Liner. I love how the brush is on this liner- it's really easy to control & has a great color.

Finally, I curl my lashes with an eyelash curler (that I really have no idea where it came from) & apply some mascara. I'm not picky when it comes to mascara. Usually I'll use some type from Avon or if I need a waterproof kind I'll use Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume Waterproof Mascara

Sometimes we all get those crazy eyebrows that just don't want to stay in place- I've been loving the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. I got it in my BirchBox & ever since it's been a necessity.

When it's one of those long days & my face is showing a little too much shine, I'll pull out my e.l.f. Shine Eraser Oil Blotting Sheets. I'm thinking these were maybe $2 at Wal-Mart, but you get fifty! Bargain, I think! These work so good, too! They absorb all the shine on my face, without removing my make-up!

All in all, I try to keep it pretty natural in the summer. I know it seems like a lot but really it's not that much! I love all these products & would recommend them to anyone! I hope you've enjoyed & not found this post too long!

Weekends & More Dividers

Ahh, finally a little down time.
Jeremiah has been home for a month now (wah).  :(
Makes me very sad. Our time together is going by so fast!
This week & into the next he is going to be gone on vacation- so hopefully I can catch up on some much missed blogging. Our weekend was short- but great.
We enjoyed some hibachi food & visited with family.
Saturday Jeremiah golfed then we just kind of hung around the house.
Jeremiah's grandmother lives almost two hours away & we went up to see her Sunday. Although it's a long drive it's really worth it. She loves seeing him & it was the first time since he'd been back that she had gotten to. So basically Sunday was spent there.

Lately, my iPhone 5, (which is literally my life) has been acting stupid. My lock button (sleep/wake button) has not been functioning. I got one of the first iPhone 5's that they came out with- so unfortunately, I got one with a bad lock button. It finally went a few days ago & I decided to see about Apple replacing it.
I called the 800 number I found on their website & explained my problem to a nice lady named Makenzie. Can I just say they have great customer service? Anyways, to the point- my phone was eligible for repair/replacement. Today I received my little pre-paid postage box (made to fit my iPhone perfectly). I shipped it back around 2:00 so hopefully they'll have me a new one by Thursday.
I know, I know- you're thinking how are you functioning without a phone for three days!? Let me tell you, it's not easy! But I have a great mom who is letting me borrow hers in the meantime.
I do have other phones I could activate with my carrier, but having to do that & then have to switch it back Thursday just seems like too much effort for me.
So, I'll manage.

Anyways, since you've heard about my recent crisis- I think I should tell you about my newest craft.
You guessed it- more baby closet dividers! This time for a little girl!
If you didn't check out my first post on how-to make these Baby Closet Dividers then click that link or, this one
A lady who my mom is good friends with just had her first grandbaby- a girl!
Of course, my mom insisted that I make her some closet dividers too (I don't mind though, they're easy & a really cute gift). I bought my supplies at Hobby Lobby this time.
If you've never been to a Hobby Lobby store- then OMG. You do not know what you're missing out on, it's only the greatest craft store of all time!
I'll link them up here & link their weekly coupon here.
I bought six hangers for .79 each & six decorative wood cutouts for .67 each.
I also purchased some baby pink ribbon which was $1.49 for the roll- with my coupon.
Did I say much I loved this store?
I used my White Acrylic Paint from my prior projects (which you can purchase at Wal-Mart for .50 per bottle.)

Please excuse the poor quality- like I said my phone (which is what I normally use for my crafting pictures) is broken. And yes, these are chilling on my coffee table which I tried to crop away but couldn't.

Try making these sometime! They're so easy, yet such a personal gift- your loved one is sure to love them! Have a great week!

June Birchbox

I've got to admit, I am a little disappointed with this months box..
I got a lot of things I can't or won't use- but let's jump into it.

One
LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil
Meh. That's all I have to say. Honestly, who is gonna wear this color (Purple)?
Ew. My sister even tried this & it's just a no.
Full Size: $18

Two
Dr. Hauschka Lemon Lemongrass Vitalising Body Wash
Pretty cool stuff, came in a weird medicine-like tube- but made my skin soft.
Just wish there was more in that tiny tube :(
Full Size: $22.95

Three
Cynthia Rowley Beauty Silver Eye Liner
Such a great color! It's perfect for when you're feeling extra dressy.
I probably wouldn't use it as an everyday liner, though.
Full Size $16

Four
Perlier Body Cream- Shea Almond
Love, love, love this! It smells so good & makes my hands feel oh, so soft!
Only bummer is that the hole in my sample tube is really tiny- so I can't get much out at a time.
Full Size: $28.45

Five

nyakio Kenyan Coffee Face Polish, Body Scrub, & Hydrating Face Oil
Really, I didn't like this sample. I do not like foil samples & that was pretty much all it was.
There was not enough in any of them to get more than one use out of.
Plus, I do not like face oils- my face is good at producing that on it's own.
However, if you have very dry skin- the face oil would work perfect for you!
Full Size: $34 - $55

This month was kind of disappointing. I got a lot of things, but I just didn't like them.
Maybe July will turn things around, hopefully.
Happy Tuesday!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday to you all! I feel like I haven't blogged in ages!
This has been a very busy week & I couldn't seem to make time!
Sorry :(
Let's jump into a little Five on Friday.

One
If you've never ate at Buffalo Wild Wings, then you don't know what you're missing out on!
Like, yum!
Yesterday we had it for lunch & it was great!

^Chips & Salsa  & Cinnamon Squares with Chocolate & Caramel dipping sauces^
Unfortunately, I forgot to photograph my food- but I had the mini corn dogs & cheese fries (queso cheese); they were both great!

Two
My littlest fur baby is one this month.
:(
Miss Marly

Three
I've almost got everything bought for my new room.
Super excited to share all my deals I got!

Four
I got the Benefit Hoola Bronzer yesterday & I am so in love with it.
Please, try this out- you'll never go back!
I also got the BeneTint Lip & Cheek Stain- It came in a two for one pack with the bronzer & it is also a great product!
I paid $29 for both of these, super good deal because the Hoola Bronzer is $26 itself!

Five
I also got the it Cosmetics Hello Light Creme Illuminator. I had originally wanted the Benefit High Beam, but they were out- so the lady recommended this instead & I love it!
This highlighting creme was $24.

Have a great weekend :)
